| Organization: | MODUK |
| Publication Date: | 1 January 1977 |
| Status: | inactive |
| Page Count: | 13 |
scope:
This Standard relates to an air-drying non-slip paint for application to suitably primed steel and aluminium alloys to provide a protective coating with maximum possible slip resistance against aircraft tires and leather and rubber footwear e.g. on decks of ships. The paint is normally applied as a two-coat finish.
When the material is ordered in NATO Green shade, it must also satisfy the specified requirements for reflectivity in the infra-red region of the spectrum. In order to avoid the possibility of confusion between this shade and visually similar but infra-red absorbing shades, the material will not be approved in colours Nos 224, 298 and 641 of BS 381c.
Notes: Particular attention will be paid to the drying properties of the paint over red lead primer in accordance with BS 2523 Type B.
A suitable texture is a requirement of the paint and particular. attention will be directed towards the examination of this property. Standard panels showing the texture required can be obtained on application to the Approving Authority.
