Purpose. - This bulletin establishes design guides for selection f suitable lubricants, fluids, and compounds, which conform to approved specifications, as required by MIL-STD-838. It includes descriptive material relative to application and limitations of the materials, a list of material specifications together with specific requirements (table I), and a list or the more important specification characteristics (tables II and III). (See pages 14 through 21). viscosity-temperature characteristics of aircraft and aircraft engine oils are shown on figures 1 and 2. (See pages 22 and 23).
