SNZ - NZS 4402.6.2.1

Methods of Testing Soils for Civil Engineering Purposes Part 6.2: Soil Strength Tests - Determination of the Compressive Strength of Specimens Tested in Undrained Triaxial Compression Test 6.2.1: Method without Measurement of Pore Water Pressure

active, Most Current
Organization: SNZ
Publication Date: 1 January 1986
Status: active
Page Count: 9
scope:

This method covers the determination of the compressive strength of specimens of soil in the triaxial compression apparatus under conditions in which the cell pressure is maintained constant, and there is no change in the water content of the specimens (see Notes (I) and (2)). The test is limited to specimens in the form of right cylinders of height approximately equal to twice the diameter. No specimen shall have a diameter less than 30mm or less than 6 times the size of the largest particles (see Note (3)).
