scope:
This standard covers mandatory requirements for marking military tactical and tracked vehicles, self propelled guns and transport vehicles.
The purpose of this standard is to provide a uniform system for marking combat and tactical transport vehicles and implements International Standardization Agreements (STANAGs) on marking of military vehicles (see 6.3).
Special vehicles that are to have concealed markings are exempted from the requirements of this standard (see 4.3).
intended Use:
This standard is used to provide a uniform system for marking, identification and registration information on combat and tactical transport vehicles of the Department of Defense.
