scope:

This standard establishes the minimum requirements for installation of private fire service mains and their appurtenances supplying automatic sprinkler systems, open sprinkler systems, water spray fixed systems, foam systems, private hydrants, monitor nozzles or standpipe systems with references to water supplies, private hydrants, and hose houses. This standard also applies to "combined service mains" used to carry water for both fire service and other use. The authority having jurisdiction shall always be consulted before installation or remodeling of private fire service mains
