This specification shall be used to determine water vapor permeability of leather and textiles used as upholstery trim material.
Definition: Water vapor permeability, as determined by this test method, is defined as the quantity of water vapor that permeates through a standard test area of material in a given time, when the material is surrounded on one side by totally water saturated air, and on the other side by totally dry air.
Note: Nothing in the specification supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless specific exemption has been obtained.
