This specification covers electric furnace air melted or consumable electrode vacuum remelted chromium-nickel alloy (17-4), precipitation hardening, corrosion resistant steel in wrought forms (bars, rods and forgings), in three conditions as specified hereinafter. Requirements are included for qualification of solution heat treated material to demonstrate capability of producing required mechanical properties after age hardening at three specified temperatures.
