This specification covers 60-cycle, alternating current (a.c.), to 400-cycle, a.c., voltage and frequency regulated motor-generator power supplies for Naval shipboard use.
Motor generators and associated control equipment shall be of the following type and arrangements, as specified (see 3.5.2 and 6.1), for surface ships only.
Type I - General purpose. Type II - Special purpose - with voltage balance regulators. Arrangement A - With meters and switchgear. Arrangement B - Without meters and switchgear.
