scope:
This specification covers selenium metallic rectifiers consisting of one or more cells.
The type designation shall be in the following form, and as specified (see 3.1 and 6.2):
The style is identified by the two-letter symbol "RS" followed by a two-digit number; the letters identify selenium metallic rectifiers and the number identifies the cell size in accordance with table I. TABLE I. Style.
Symbol Cell size Symbol Cell size
--------------------
The method of mounting is identified by a single letter in accordance with table II. TABLE II. Mounting method.
Symbol Mounting method
--------------------
The nominal direct-current (dc) output voltage rating, at 55°C ambient temperature, when the rectifier is connected to a resistive load, is identified by a three-digit number: the first two digits represent significant figures and the last digit specifies the number of zeros to follow.
The circuit configuration is identified by a two-letter symbol in accordance with table III. TABLE III. Circuit configuration.

The nominal dc output current rating, at 55°C ambient temperature, when the rectifier is connected to a resistive load, is identified by a three-digit number: the first two digits represent significant figures in milliamperes and the last digit specifies the number of zeros to follow.
intended Use:
Rectifiers covered by this specification are intended primarily for use in power rectification. For application in such items as magnetic amplifiers or as dc blocking components, additional tests... View More
