This specification covers 8-inch incandescent signaling searchlights for Naval shipboard use.
The searchlights shall be of the following types as specified (see 6.1):
Type I - 115 volts, 60 hertz (Hz), alternating current (ac) (symbol No. 297). Type II - 28 volts, 60 Hz ac/direct current (dc) (symbol No. 297.1).
