The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description.

This Commercial Item Description (CID) covers a chlorine flocculating emergency water purification tablet, packed in commercially acceptable containers, suitable for use by the Federal Government. The tablet is intended to clarify and disinfect polluted water to make it microbiologically safe for drinking. The tablet is recommended for use in situations where municipally treated water is not provided or where the available water is suspected of being polluted.
