scope:

Purpose.

This Instruction:

Implements a Defense Standardization Program (DSP) as required by reference (a), assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures.

Designates the Director, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), as the DoD Executive Agent for the DSP.

Authorizes continued publication of reference (b), consistent with reference (c), to provide guidance and procedures for the DSP.

APPLICABILITY.

This Instruction applies to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, the Military Departments, the Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, Defense Agencies, and the DoD Field Activities and all other organizational entities within the Department of Defense (hereafter referred to collectively as "the DoD Components").
