scope:
This specification covers light-, intermediate-, medium-, and heavy-duty, flexible and extra-flexible, single-conductor and multiconductor cable, shielded and unshielded, for use in circuits of 300 and 600 volts root mean square (rms). It also covers heavy-duty, multiconductor, unshielded cable containing ground wires. The letter cable is limited to two, three, and four conductors, all of the conductors being of the same size, ranging from No. American Wire Gage (AWG) to No. 8 AWG, inclusive.
