scope:

a. This handbook is intended to provide technical information for the guidance of engineering and technical personnel and to show the cross section of an extrusion produced by a specific die without regard to length or material specifications. The designs depicted may not be available within the Air Force or other Military Departments. The items shown and listed are not necessarily items of supply and therefore may not be currently cataloged by the Military Forces.

b. This publication covers extruded shapes used as structural members in United States Aircraft and Missiles. It is designed to show cross-reference and Interchangeability of Manufacturers (Designers) shape numbers and extruders die numbers which can be procured and utilized in design, maintenance, and overhaul of aircraft structures and components parts. Military services, stock numbers are covered in the appropriate Army, Navy, and Air Force stock catalogs.
