This specification covers the requirements and quality acceptance provisions for the manufacture and acceptance of two types of Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB) (See 6.1):
Type I: Acetyl Content 29.5%, Butyryl Content 17% Type II: Acetyl Content 13.5%, Butyryl Content 37%
intended Use:
CAB is cellulose acetate butyrate, a mixed ester. Type I is intended for use in organic protective coatings. Type II is intended as a binder in propellant.
