scope:
This specification covers automatic temperature regulating valves for steam, water, and other fluid service where accurate temperature control of fluid is required. These valves are of the self-operated type requiring no external power supply such as oil, water, steam, electricity, or compressed gas for their operation. However, when the fail safe mode is required (see 6.2), it can be externally powered.
Automatic temperature regulating valves are of the following types, classes, and series as specified (see 6.2):
Type I - Direct operated 3-way valves - series 100, 150. Type II - Direct operated 2-way valves. Class 1 - Direct acting (heating service) - series 100, 150. Class 2 - Reverse acting (cooling service) - series 100, 150, 250, 700. Type III - Pilot operated 2-way valves. Class 1 - Direct acting (heating service) - series 100, 150, 400, 600. Class 2 - Reverse acting (cooling service) - series 100, 150, 400, 600.
