The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of and instructions for access to climatological data available for use by engineers designing government structures.

The Air Force Combat Climatology Center (AFCCC) compiled the data in this document at the request of the Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency (HQ AFCESA). Sites were identified by AFCESA, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), and the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFACENGCOM). Final selection of sites was based upon availability of climatological data. Most are located at military installations supporting airfield operations, or at local airports/airfields. (See Chapter 3 for a listing of sites.) Department of Defense (DOD) agencies and DOD contractors may obtain data for additional sites by providing site coordinates and elevation in written request to AFCCC/DOO, 151 Patton Avenue, Room 120, Asheville, North Carolina, 28801-5002. Non-DOD users should contact the National Climatic Data Center, Federal Building, Asheville, North Carolina, 28801. Nongovernmental site data may be obtained from a private consulting meteorologist or the following Web site:
