This drawing covers the general requirements and tests for radio frequency cable used with various types of connectors.
The complete part number shall be as specified on the item requirements drawing and constructed using the following format:
The DESC requirements drawing shall state the requirement values and design modifications required of the cable to be procured by the Government.
The cable type shall be identified in the following manner:
Designation Type CF Coaxial, flexible DF Twinaxial, flexible TF Triaxial, flexible CS Coaxial, semirigid TS Triaxial, semirigid XX To be defined on requirements drawing
Cable impedance (in ohms) shall be identified in the following manner: 50, 78, 125 etc.
Cable jacket material shall be identified in the following manner:
Designations Jacket material (type per MIL-C-17) PV Polyvinylchloride (type IIa) PR Polychloroprene rubber (IV) FB Fiberglass braids (V) SR Silicone rubber (VI) PT PTFE (VII) EP Extruded PTFE (VIIa) TP PTFE tape (VIIb) FE Extruded FEP (IX) ET ETFE (X) PU Polyurethane (XII) PF PFA (XIII) XX Defined on requirements drawing
