The FFU-5/E filter element is intended for use as a replacement item in ground aviation liquid fuel filtering and servicing systems. This filter element and canister are intended to replace Bowser-Briggs Division part No. 47B37 and A2653 elements and canisters in the Bowser, Incorporated, Bowser-Briggs Division model 842D-300 and 842D-600 filter-separators.

It is intended that the canisters will replace the currently used separator bags in the Bowser, Incorporated, Bowser-Briggs Filtration Division model 842D-300 and 842D-600 filter-separators. The canisters are not intended to be replaced each time the element is replaced. Thus the canisters are intended to be furnished on a one-time basis for the above filter-separators.
