This specification covers aluminum alloy 2219 armor rolled plate and die forged shapes from ¾ inch up to and including 4 inches in thickness.
Alloy 2219 is weldable to itself and other alloys of the 2000 series,
but not to alloys of 5083 type materials and aluminum-zinc-magnes
Material furnished under this specification shall be one of the following types and tempers:
Rolled plate - T851 Die forged shapes - T852
intended Use:
The material specified herein is for military vehicles.
