Hose and hose assemblies covered by this specification are intended for use as fuel and oil lines carrying fuel, oil or diesel fuel in military vehicles and for other military applications. Type I and type III hose and hose assemblies covered by this specification are military unique because they must be able to operate satisfactorily in temperatures ranging from temperatures - 65°F to +250°F (-53.89°C to +121.11°C) for type I and from -55°F to +300°F (-48.33°C to +148.89°C) for type III. Commercial products are not manufactured to operate at these extreme temperatures and would experience catastrophic failure.
