This Standard specifies the material and performance requirements, and the qualification approval procedure, for the production of specialized armour-quality steel castings not covered by Def Stan 95-25.
In particular, it covers the procurement of armour castings for which superior ballistic qualities are required and/or for which through-section hardening is achieved either by air-cooling or by oil-quenching.
