scope:
This specification covers the general requirements for the design and construction of equipment used in testing electronic and electrical equipment. Detail requirements for a particular test equipment will be specified in a detail specification for that equipment.
The test equipment shall be of the following classes, classified according to the location of use. The detail specification will specify the class of the particular test equipment (see 6.2).
Class 1 - Airborne Test equipment used in air vehicles. It includes test equipment that is permanently installed and test equipment that is stowed in the air vehicle for use in flight. Class 2 - Organizational (Flightline) Test equipment used in the vicinity of the aircraft on land or on board ship. It includes test equipment used on the flight line or flight deck, and in the hangar or hangar deck. This class of test equipment is for use in areas where the environmental condi- tions are uncontrolled. Class 3 - Intermediate (Shop) Test equipment used in the shop at land facilities or on board ship where the service area is protected and environmentally controlled for human occupancy. It includes test equipment used in field shops, fixed or mobile.
intended Use:
This specification is intended for use to incorporate, in the equipment detail specification, those requirements which are common to most test equipments for weapons systems.
