scope:
This standard specifies requirements and test methods for oil lamps used for decorative purposes in households, in restaurants, in recreational facilities and similar areas. The standard does not apply to oil lamps intended to be a primary source of light or for industrial purposes (e.g. securing of road building sites). The purpose of the standard is to minimise the risk of accidental poisoning of small children up to 3 years of age by limiting the accessibility of the lamp oil.
