Standard Test Method for Low Temperature Breakdown of Iron Ores

1.1 This test method describes a method for testing the breakdown of iron ores by tumbling, at room temperature, a sample that has been reduced in a fixed bed at a temperature of 500°C (932°F). The method applies to natural coarse iron ores, pellets, and sinter.
