scope:

The equipment covered by this specification shall receive interrogations from X-band radars and transmit a reply to the interrogation on another frequency within the X-band. It shall also transmit X-band pulses when triggered by the associated equipment (see 6.12) in the "All-Weather Carrier Landing System (ACLS)" mode of operation.

A radar beacon AN/APN-154(V) shall consist of the following items in the quantity indicated:

The RT-763D/APN-154(V) and the RT-763/APN-154(V) configurations incorporate external trigger capability for ACLS operation.
