scope:
This instruction is designed to focus on the Western Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Persian Gulf, Arabian Sea, and Mediterranean regions only. It does, however, provide a blue print for depot level repair support required as a result of Major Theater Wars (MTW), Smaller Scale Contingencies (SSC), and Military Operations Other than War (MOOTW) in other areas of the world.
Purpose. To provide planning guidance to all Naval Air Depots (NAVAIRDEPOTs) and Repair Activities for rapid response to emergent depot level support and repair requirements for deployed/overseas sited aircraft resulting from surprise attack on United States Forces, escalation of operations prior to actual hostilities, increased operations during or as a result of hostilities, single theater or multi-theater high tempo operations and hostilities, and increased operational tempo as a result of operations other than war.
