scope:

Purpose. The purpose of this Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Supply Handbook is to:

a. Provide the program/acquisition managers (PM/AM) with an overview of the ILS supply support process, with an understanding of how it is related to the other ILS elements, and of how their responsibility to establish and maintain ILS will be achieved.

b. Provide a ready reference and planning guide to ILS managers and supply support logistics element managers (LEMs) who are involved in the day-to-day process of developing and implementing supply support for new weapon systems and equipment.

c. Describe the tasks, procedures, and products related to planning for and providing spare and repair parts in support of Navy weapons system/equipment throughout the hardware life cycle.

d. Consolidate the ILS information contained in many directives and other sources into a single volume.
