The standard provides information and rules for the preparation of detail specifications for single way optical fibre connectors sets, with a screw thread coupling, for fibres of not less than 125 Um nominal cladding diameters, and covering a number of methods of manufacture. Prescribes interface dimensions for such connectors together with gauging requirements. Also prescribes tests, mandatory or otherwise, selected from the generic specifications IEC 874-1 applicable to all.
