This standard defines MC&G reproduction and printing and requirements for lithographic products produced by the Defense Mapping Agency (DMA). Included are detailed specifications for dot screens, area patterns (APs), line patterns (LPs), posicuts, and type styles.

The purpose of this standard is to assure a uniformity of: treatment among mapping, charting, and printing reproduction elements, primarily DMA and its contractors, engaged in a coordinated production program for hardcopy lithographic products.

This standard applies to both internal and contractual developmental efforts by the Defense Mapping Agency, and to all levels involved in the preparation and maintenance of lithographic MC&G products.

This Military Standard is UNCLASSIFIED. The symbology and technical specifications presented herein may be used for classified graphic products where appropriate security provisions are added.
