PURPOSE

The purpose of this List is to tabulate all the various types of electric lamps used by the Services and other Government Departments. It provides users with the means of identification. together with information which will enable design branches to select and compare lamps or to refer to any applicable specification.

The list is not intended to be used as a master specification for the manufacture or inspection of electric lamps and in such cases reference should be made to the specification referred to in the final column of each page. Where no specification is indicated (e.g. "Commercial") the data may be taken as a guide to the characteristics of a manufacturer's product.
