This specification covers circular saw blades for bench-mounted and floor-mounted, woodcutting circular saws, power-driven saws, and portable circular saws.

Federal specifications do not include all varieties of the commodity as indicated by the title of the specification, or which are commercially available, but are intended to cover only those generally used by the Federal Government.

Circular saw blades shall be of the following types and classes, as specified (see 6.2):

Type I-Crosscut. Class 1-Flat ground. Class 2-Hollow ground. Type II-Rip. Class 1-Flat ground. Type III-Combination. Class 1-Flat ground. Class 2-Hollow ground. Type IV-Dado heads.
