scope:
Purpose. To assign responsibilities within the Navy to assure that appropriate and timely action is taken whenever essential end item production or component support capabilities are endangered by the loss or impending loss of manufacturing sources or by material shortages.
Applicability and Scope. This instruction applies to all Navy activities involved in providing initial and follow-on support for Navy systems and equipment.
