1. SCOPE

These specifications define multi-layer composite, enhanced evaporative, elastomeric hoses having low permeation and good resistance to fuel blends containing methanol. The hose shall consist of an inner layer of NBR, HNBR or similar fuel resistant elastomer that may or may not be electrically conductive, a barrier layer such as THV, FEP, PVDF, ETFE, or similar permeation resistant material, optional elastomeric tie layers where needed, and a cover such as NBR, HNBR, ECO, CSM or CM or similar elastomer that is moderately hydrocarbon, heat and ozone resistant. Reinforced hoses contain one or more plies of braided, knit, or spiral woven fabric of various synthetic fibers either bonded within the construction or firmly adhered externally to the surface.
