This Standard states the requirements for fuse links, electrical, of the cartridge type for circuits of voltage rating up to 1000 Volts intended for the several categories of duty herein specified on alternating current of up to 2500 Hz and on direct current. It deals with normal instantaneous and time delay types of fuse link.

Note: Attention is drawn to SELECTION OF FUSE LINKS, page 5 (PART 2) of this Standard especially with regard to breaking capacity.

Items specified in Section A of this Standard are physically and electrically to BS 88 Part 2, 1975 having their environmental performance specified herein. These are not suitable for aerospace applications.

Items specified in Section C of this Standard are physically and electrically to BS 4265 (IEC 127) having their environmental performance and dc breaking capacity specified herein.
