active, Most Current
Organization: TIA
Publication Date: 1 April 1996
Status: active
Page Count: 109
scope:

This document specifies a method for combining multiple 56 or 64 kibt/s data streams into a wideband connection as described in the Introduction. This document describes the method from the perspective of the network interface in terms of the framing structure and messages transmitted and received across the network interface. This document does not define, nor are the procedures herein dependent on the following:

The call control procedures for connecting and disconnecting the individual channels that make up the multiple connections across the network.

The higher level protocols or applications that use the services provided by this method.

The framing structure and the electrical characteristics of the physical interface or connection to the network.
