scope:
This specification covers pendant mounted, fluorescent lamp lighting fixtures for alternating current service, as specified (see 3.18). Unless otherwise specified, lamps and starters shall not be included with the fixtures.
Lighting fixtures furnished under this specification shall be of the following types, styles, mountings, and lamp arrangements, as specified (see 6.1):
Types: Type I - Lighting fixtures which have been specifically designed to permit interchangeability of parts of different manufacturers (see 3.2). Type II - General Purposes Lighting Fixtures. Styles: Style A - Direct. Style B - Semi-direct. Style C - Direct-indirect. Style D - Semi-indirect. Mountings: Mounting 1 - Individual. Mounting 2 - Continuous Row. Lamp Arrangements: Arrangement A - Two 40-watt, medium bi-pin base, T-12 rapid-start, fluorescent lamps in accordance with ANSI Standard C78.700. Arrangement B - Four 40-watt, medium bi-pin base, T-12 rapid-start, fluorescent lamps in accordance with ANSI Standard C78.700.
