PREFACE

i This Index provides a cross-reference between item name and the relevant Defence Standard part number of the Def Stan 51-11 series. This Index has been approved for use within all departments of the MOD.

ii This Index has been prepared by a working group comprising representatives from the MOD under the authority of the Defence Engineering and Equipment Standardization Subcommittee E7.

iii This Index lists general purpose hand tools of the non-edged, non-powered and edged, non-powered type, classified in 51 group of the NATO supply classification. Those hand tools classified in group 51 which are not of the above type will have Defence Standard numbers other than Def Stan 51-11.

iv This Standard has been devised for the use of the Crown and of its contractors in the execution of contracts for the Crown and, subject to the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977, the Crown will not be liable in any way whatever (including but without limitation negligence on the part of the Crown its servants or agents) where the Standard is used for other purposes.
