DS/IEC 829

Methods of test for the determination of the ignitabillity of solid electrical insulating materials when exposed to electrically heated wire sources

inactive, Most Current
Organization: DS
Publication Date: 11 September 1990
Status: inactive
ICS Code (Insulating materials in general): 29.035.01
scope:

The standard describes test methods which are applicable to solid electrical insulating materials and are intended to serve as an indication of their ignitability when using an electrically heated wire as an ignition source. The results make it possible to provide a relative comparison of various materials according to the temperature (Method A) or to the time (Method B) at which the test specimen ignites during the application of the igniting source.
