scope:
This specification covers the general requirements for button-style (feed-thru and stand-off, hermetically and nonhermetically sealed), mica-dielectric, fixed capacitors for use at frequencies upto 500 megahertz (MHz) in tuning, coupling, and bypass circuits. These capacitors are suitable for operation over a temperature range of −55° to +85°C, or −55° to +150°C, as specified. (See 3.1.)
The part number shall be in the following form, and as specified (see 3.1 and 6.1):
The style is identified by the two-letter symbol "CB" followed by a two-digit number; the letters identify button-style, mica-dielectric, fixed capacitors and the number identifies the shape, dimensions, and operating-temperatur
The terminal assembly is identified by a single letter in accordance with table I. TABLE I. Terminal assembly.

The nominal capacitance value expressed in picofarads (pf) is identified by a three-digit number; the first two digits represent significant figures and the last digit specifies the number of zeros to follow.
