This Directive:
1. Consistent with references (a) through (d) consolidates established policy, prescribes procedures, and assigns responsibilities on the application of fundamental engineering and technical disciplines' in acquisition programs to expedita the transition from development to production.
2. Authorizes the publication of DoD 4245.7-M, "Transition from Development to Production,'' consistent with ROD 5025.1-M (reference (e)).
