scope:
This specification covers self-contained single circuit battery charging equipment (rectifier type) for charging industrial storage batteries primarily used in materials handling equipment.
Unless otherwise specified, the chargers (see 6.2) shall be capable of charging the following battery types and sizes. If required, the ordering agency may specify battery voltages and capacities different from that listed below.
Charger type I - For nominal 36 volt batteries. Size A - Lead-acid 18 cells 450 to 850 AH. Charger type II - For nominal 24 volt batteries. Size A - Lead-acid 12 cells 580 to 870 AH. Charger type III - For nominal 12 volt batteries. Size A - Lead-acid 6 cells 360 to 580 AH. Size B - Lead-acid 6 cells 600 to 900 AH.
