This Standard applies to Christmas tree and other decorative lighting outfits, intended for connection to circuits of 125 V or less between conductors by means of an attachment plug cap, and designed to be used in accordance with the rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
This Standard applies to outfits for illuminating Christmas trees and for furnishing similar decorative illumination and animation of the following types:
(a) series-connected strings having midget- or miniature-base lampholders and intended for indoor or outdoor use;
(b) parallel-connected strings having candelabra-, intermediate-, or medium-base lampholders, intended for indoor or outdoor use;
(c) parallel-connected strings having midget- or miniature-base lampholders supplied by a transformer, intended for indoor or outdoor use;
(d) individual devices such as wreaths, stars, crosses, candle sets, and plaques, for indoor and outdoor use;
(e) motorized devices intended for indoor use only such as tree stands with or without provision for illumination, and colour wheels; and
(f) Christmas flashers.
This Standard applies to lamps intended for use with outfits of other than medium base.
This Standard does not apply to decorative lighting assemblies such as streamers and illuminated frames that are partially assembled in the field and permanently connected to supply conductors.
This Standard does not apply to luminaires specified in CSA Standard C22.2 No. 12.
