This part 1 of the aluminium handbook series contains standards for temper designation and designation of aluminium ingots for remeltning and wrought products. The designation includes both the numerical system and the system based on chemical symbol. The handbook also contains standards for the chemical composition of wrought products and forms of products and standards for the technical delivery conditions for plate and strips as well as castings. For castings a guide to the selection of alloys by ranking the alloys according to the production method and heat treatment conditions is included. Part 1 of this handbook also includes the European standard for inspection ducuments for all metallic materials.
