This NES gives the requirements for the form, location, manufacture and fitting of draught marks for all Surface Ships and Submarines excepting those referred to in Clauses 8.2 and 8.3.
Nothing which appears in this NES is to be taken as in any way superseding or supplanting the instructions which are contained in 'The Merchant Shipping (Metrication) REgulations 1973' in respect of those vessels to which The Merchant Shipping (Metrication) Regulations 1973 must apply
The requirements for craft of less than 20m Length between Perpendiculars (LBP) are not covered.
