scope:
This INTERIM Defence Standard specifies requirements for two grades of glass-filled polycarbonate moulding material of natural colour, suitable for the production of articles by injection moulding. However, material supplied to this INTERIM Standard may not necessarily be received in a suitable condition for injection moulding and may require to be dried before use (see clause 8)
The designation 'Type QX' indicates that the material is suitable for certain applications where a high degree of compatibility with explosives is a requirement. However, compatibility with all explosives in all environments has not been established. and Design Authorities should seek advice on particular applications from the Head of Energetic Materials and Terminal Effects Department, Defence Research Agency, Fort Halstead, Sevenoaks, kent, TN 14 7BP.
