This Standard applies to PVC protectie covering over paper-insulated metallic-sheathed power cables to protect metallic sheath against mechanical damage during installation, and against corrosion.

Note: For abnormal installations, such as when high transient voltages may appear on the metallic sheath, it may be necessary to require a greater thickness of polyvinyl chloride covering than the minimum of this Standard and supplementary requirements may be necessary.
