Organization: ASTM International
Publication Date: 29 July 2002
Status: inactive
Page Count: 20
scope:

This method is for determining total and individual normal paraffins in desorbent free UOP Molex process streams. The method is generally applicable over a carbon number range of C6 to approximately C30 but, within this range, an individual sample cannot have a range of more than ten carbon numbers. The method can also be extended to wider carbon number ranges when qualitative or approximate results are acceptable. Normal olefins, when present, are included with the normal paraffins but can be determined separately by UOP Method 688, when required, such as for the UOP Pacol, the UOP Define and the UOP Olex process streams. The lower limit of detection for an individual normal paraffin is 0.05 mass-%.
