This method is for determining total sulfur in heavy oils and viscous hydrocarbons in the range of 10 wt-ppm to greater than 2000 wt-ppm. Samples are analyzed directly by single entry boat insertion. Halides in excess of 10 times the sulfur level, nitrogen content greater than 10% and heavy metals interfere with the analysis.
