The purposes of this International Standard are a) to clarif y the distinctions and interrelationships among the principa l quality concepts, and b) to provide guidelines for the sel ection and use of a series of International Standards on qua lity systems that can be used for internal quality managemen t purposes (ISO 9004) and for external quality assurance pur poses (ISO 9001,ISO 9002,ISO 9003).
